Security forces and police have killed 49 terrorists in KP and Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said forces carried out several intelligence-based operations over the past few days. The operations targeted militant networks in both provinces.
ISPR said the operations formed part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign. The military also said the actions disrupted attempts to threaten peace and stability.
Pakistan’s military described the targeted militants as Indian-sponsored terrorists. It also identified them as members of groups it calls Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan.
12 Terrorists Killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Security forces killed 12 militants in several operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ISPR said.
The operations took place in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts.
During the raids, security personnel recovered explosives, weapons and ammunition. They also found motorcycles and equipment used to detonate improvised explosive devices.
Security forces destroyed the recovered material, according to ISPR.
37 Militants Killed in Balochistan
Security forces also carried out 10 intelligence-based operations in Balochistan.
ISPR said the operations killed 37 militants in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur districts.
Personnel recovered weapons and explosive drums during the operations. They also seized remote-detonation equipment.
The military said security forces destroyed the recovered items.
Security Forces Continue Counterterrorism Campaign
Security forces have started sanitisation operations in the affected areas.
These teams are searching for other militants who may remain in the region. They are also working to clear areas targeted during the recent operations.
ISPR said security forces remain committed to protecting Pakistan’s borders and maintaining national security.
Azm-e-Istehkam Campaign Remains Ongoing
The latest operations form part of the Azm-e-Istehkam counterterrorism campaign.
The Federal Apex Committee approved the framework under the National Action Plan. Security forces and law-enforcement agencies continue to carry out operations under the initiative.
ISPR said the campaign will continue at full pace.
The military also pledged to target militant networks that it says receive foreign support.
