Saudi Umrah Visa Offers Pilgrims Greater Flexibility
Saudi Arabia has introduced a one-year multiple-entry Saudi Umrah visa, giving Muslim pilgrims more flexibility to perform Umrah several times within a year.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah launched the new visa as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy. The initiative aims to improve pilgrimage services and boost religious tourism.
Saudi Umrah Visa Allows Multiple Visits
The new visa remains valid for 365 days from the date of issue. Pilgrims can enter Saudi Arabia several times during that period.
However, travellers cannot stay in the Kingdom for more than 90 days in total over the year.
Before every trip, pilgrims must reserve an approved Umrah package through the Nusuk platform. The package covers accommodation, transport, flights, and visa services.
Pilgrims must also obtain an official Umrah permit through Nusuk before travelling.
New System Improves the Pilgrim Experience
Saudi officials say the new visa simplifies travel and gives pilgrims more freedom to plan their visits.
After completing Umrah and leaving Saudi Arabia, travellers can reactivate the visa for another trip if they meet all required conditions.
The government will not allow pilgrims to use this visa during the annual Hajj season because separate Hajj regulations apply.
Umrah Arrivals Continue to Increase
Saudi Arabia has welcomed a record number of Umrah visitors this year.
Official figures show that more than 931,000 pilgrims arrived on Umrah visas during 2026. That represents an increase of more than 22 percent compared with the same period last year.
Most visitors travelled from Pakistan, Indonesia, and Iraq, reflecting strong international demand for the pilgrimage.
Difference Between Umrah and Hajj
Although both pilgrimages take place in Makkah and Madinah, they serve different religious purposes.
Muslims may perform Umrah at almost any time of the year. The pilgrimage usually takes only a few hours to complete.
Hajj is one of Islam’s five pillars. Muslims who are physically and financially able must perform it once in their lifetime. Pilgrims can only perform Hajj during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah.
Saudi Arabia welcomed more than 1.6 million pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season. The latest visa reforms demonstrate the Kingdom’s commitment to improving services while strengthening its position as the world’s leading destination for religious travel.
