Lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir has raised fresh questions about the Mir Raza murder probe, alleging that abductors held and tortured Mir Raza Ali for around 12 hours before killing him.
Nasir said Mir Raza remained alive until the evening of July 28. He alleged that the abductors then subjected him to severe torture.
Nasir also raised questions about possible acid exposure. He said investigators should examine whether the attackers threw acid on Mir Raza or forced him to ingest it.
The lawyer said Mir Raza appeared extremely frightened before his death. He suggested that the abductors may have shown him something that caused that fear.
Mir Raza Murder Probe Focuses on Torture Claims
Nasir alleged that the abductors held Mir Raza for about 12 hours. He also claimed they injected a substance into his vein.
According to Nasir, the substance may have prevented Mir Raza from moving. However, he said the victim may have remained conscious and felt the pain.
Nasir also examined the victim’s clothing. He said Mir Raza’s shirt appeared to show signs of acid damage.
The lawyer further claimed that the injuries suggested someone shot Mir Raza from behind. Investigators will need forensic evidence to establish the exact circumstances.
Questions Over the Smartwatch
Nasir has also questioned how police handled Mir Raza’s smartwatch.
He said investigators requested the device on the day of the victim’s Soyem. Nasir alleged that SSP Samiullah Soomro then kept the smartwatch for around 10 days.
The lawyer called the reported delay a serious concern. He said the device could contain important information about Mir Raza’s final movements.
Nasir also accused the officer of keeping important evidence for several days. He alleged that officers damaged evidence at the crime scene.
The FIR includes Section 201, which deals with causing evidence of an offence to disappear or concealing evidence.
Nasir said investigators must explain how authorities handled every important piece of evidence.
Nasir Questions Police Investigation Team
Nasir also questioned the presence of one officer on the investigation team.
He said the officer had travelled to Kashmir about two weeks before the murder. According to Nasir, the officer had not returned at the time of the killing.
Nasir called for departmental action against officers at Gulistan-e-Johar police station. He accused them of ignoring important evidence during the investigation.
He also said the new investigation team expressed surprise over the smartwatch issue.
How Did the Killers Know the Route?
Nasir has raised another major question about the attackers’ movements.
He asked how the killers allegedly knew where cameras were absent. He also questioned how they identified the location to pick up Mir Raza.
Nasir further asked how the attackers knew where to leave the body.
These questions could help investigators reconstruct the victim’s final hours. Police may also examine phone records, CCTV footage and financial activity.
Questions Over Bank Accounts and Phone
Nasir also challenged claims about Mir Raza’s finances.
He questioned reports that Mir Raza emptied his own bank accounts before his death. He also raised questions about claims that someone hacked the victim’s mobile phone.
Investigators will need to establish whether these claims have any connection to the murder.
The financial records and phone data could provide important clues about Mir Raza’s final movements and contacts.
Jibran Nasir Calls for Transparency
Nasir has called for greater transparency in the Mir Raza murder probe.
He said authorities should make the latest developments public. He also urged investigators to address the questions surrounding the alleged torture and evidence handling.
The case now faces several key questions. Investigators must establish who abducted Mir Raza, what happened during the alleged 12-hour captivity and who carried out the killing.
They must also determine whether officers mishandled any evidence.
Nasir said the facts that emerged during the previous 24 hours should reach the public. He called for a transparent investigation and accountability if officials find evidence of wrongdoing.
Note: The allegations about torture, acid exposure and evidence handling come from Jibran Nasir’s claims. They should not be treated as independently proven facts unless investigators or other reliable evidence confirm them.
