Ukraine launched another long-range drone operation overnight, targeting two Wildberries warehouse attack sites in Russia.
Russian officials said the strikes killed seven people and injured 49 others.
The attacks hit facilities in the Tambov region and Elektrostal near Moscow.
Emergency crews responded immediately as rescue operations began.
Wildberries Warehouse Attack Kills Seven Workers
The deadliest strike hit a Wildberries warehouse in the Tambov region.
Seven employees working the night shift lost their lives.
Regional Governor Evgeniy Pervyshov said another 25 people suffered injuries.
Several victims remain in serious condition after flying debris struck the building.
Firefighters, rescue teams and medical workers searched the damaged warehouse throughout the night.
Officials also said local air defence systems intercepted several incoming drones.
Second Strike Near Moscow
Another drone struck a Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, east of Moscow.
Governor Andrei Vorobyov confirmed that 24 people suffered injuries.
Some victims remain in critical condition.
He also said Russian air defences destroyed 48 drones over the Moscow region.
However, one falling drone struck an oil storage site and started a fire.
Emergency crews quickly contained the blaze while investigators assessed the damage.
Ukraine Explains the Operation
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian forces targeted logistics facilities that support Russia’s military industry.
According to him, the warehouses handled equipment linked to drone production and navigation systems.
He also confirmed additional strikes against targets in Crimea, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
Ukraine described the operation as a response to continued Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Conflict Continues to Escalate
The latest attacks followed Russian strikes that reportedly killed at least 14 people across Ukraine the previous night.
Both countries continue launching long-range drone attacks far from the front lines.
Wildberries Chief Executive Tatyana Kim called the incident a tragedy and offered condolences to the victims’ families.
Meanwhile, security officials continue assessing the damage while emergency workers remain at both warehouse sites.
