US President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to the White House on Thursday for talks covering trade, artificial intelligence and the broader strategic rivalry between the two countries.
The meeting came as Washington and Beijing continue to manage disagreements over tariffs, technology, Taiwan and other geopolitical issues. The summit also featured an elaborate state visit, with ceremonies and displays around the White House.

1. Trade Truce Extended, but Bigger Issues Remain
The United States and China agreed to extend their existing trade arrangement for another two months, according to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
