A man has been found guilty of murder following the Wembley nightclub shooting that killed 18-year-old Tyrece Balcha in September 2025.
Balcha was shot outside the Crystal Club on Atlantic Crescent at around 05:30 GMT on 21 September. Emergency services rushed him to hospital, but he died four days later.
A jury at the Old Bailey convicted Ashley Wallace, 40, of murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Wembley Nightclub Shooting Followed Club Altercation
CCTV footage showed Balcha involved in an altercation inside the nightclub before the confrontation moved outside.
The footage showed Balcha leaving the club and being followed before he was shot. Wallace then fled the area in a vehicle.
Police traced the vehicle to south-east London and arrested Wallace on 25 September.
Investigators later recovered a revolver from the vehicle. Wallace’s DNA was found on the weapon, while forensic testing linked the firearm to the bullet recovered from the crime scene.
Other Defendants Cleared
Several other defendants were involved in the same proceedings.
Two men were acquitted of murder, while a woman was cleared of charges relating to firearm possession and perverting the course of justice.
The jury was unable to reach a verdict concerning a fourth man.
Family Pays Tribute After Murder Verdict
Balcha’s mother, Bonnie, said the verdict represented an important step for the family but could not remove the pain caused by his death.
She described her son as a loving family member and friend who had a big heart, an infectious smile and a personality that drew people toward him.
The family said they hoped Balcha could now rest in peace knowing that justice had been served.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke praised the family’s dignity and patience throughout the investigation and trial. He said police hoped the conviction would provide them with some measure of justice.
Sentencing Will Follow
Wallace remains subject to sentencing following his murder conviction. A date for the sentencing hearing has not yet been confirmed.
The Wembley nightclub shooting has therefore resulted in a murder conviction, while proceedings involving the remaining defendant will continue through the courts.
