A Houthi drone Saudi Arabia interception has resulted in one death after falling shrapnel struck an area in Taif governorate, east of Mecca.
Saudi Arabia’s civil defence agency said on Thursday that debris from the intercepted drone fell across the governorate. The incident also left two people injured and caused damage to several buildings and vehicles.
According to the agency, the person killed was a Yemeni national. Authorities did not immediately provide further details about the victim.
Buildings and Vehicles Damaged
The civil defence agency said emergency teams responded after the drone was intercepted and debris reached the ground.
Officials reported damage to a number of buildings and vehicles. Two people were also injured in the incident and received assistance from emergency responders.
The statement did not provide details about the extent of the property damage or the identities of those injured.
