Trump Warns China and Russia Against Supporting Iran in Ongoing Conflict

Trump warns China and Russia against supporting Iran

US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to China and Russia, cautioning both countries against becoming involved in the ongoing conflict with Iran.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said any military support for Tehran could have serious consequences and would not serve the interests of either Beijing or Moscow.

Trump Cites Talks With Chinese President

Trump said that during a recent meeting in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping assured him that China would not provide weapons or military equipment to Iran.

According to Trump, the commitment also extended to Chinese companies, which he said would be prevented from supplying arms to Tehran.

The US president described the conversation as an important step toward preventing the conflict from spreading beyond the Middle East.

Russia Also Warned

Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin had similarly indicated that Russia would not sell weapons to Iran.

He added that he does not believe either Russia or China is directly participating in the current conflict.

However, Trump warned that any change in their positions could lead to serious consequences.

“If they did, it would be very bad for them. It is certainly not in their best interests.”

Conflict Continues to Escalate

Trump’s warning comes as military tensions between the United States and Iran remain high.

The two sides have exchanged strikes across the region, raising concerns that the conflict could expand if additional countries become directly involved.

The escalation has also increased international concerns about regional stability, energy supplies and the broader global economic impact.

Intelligence Reports Under Review

US intelligence agencies are also examining whether outside assistance may have contributed to Iran’s military capabilities during the conflict, according to reports citing people familiar with the assessments.

The reports have included questions about possible assistance involving targeting information and drone-related technology.

The Kremlin has not publicly commented on those specific allegations.

US Maintains Pressure Through Sanctions

The United States has previously imposed sanctions on individuals and companies in Russia and China over allegations that they helped Iran obtain military equipment or technology.

Washington has repeatedly said it will continue targeting entities that provide support to Iran’s defence sector.

As tensions remain elevated, the Trump administration is expected to closely monitor any involvement by foreign governments or companies. China and Russia’s response could become an important factor in determining whether the conflict remains contained or expands into a wider international confrontation.
