Israeli forces killed a 14-year-old Palestinian teenager during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, Palestinian health authorities said.
The teenager, Islam Ahmad Maher Ajouri, lived in the Askar refugee camp near Nablus.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli gunfire struck Ajouri during the raid.
Mohammed Abu Kashk, who heads the Askar camp services committee, said Israeli forces shot the teenager during their operation.
“There were no clashes or confrontations that would justify shooting a child and killing him,” Abu Kashk told AFP.
A Palestinian Red Crescent source said live ammunition struck Ajouri in the chest.
Doctors later pronounced him dead at Nablus National Hospital.
Family Mourns Teenager
Ajouri’s family held his funeral after his death.
His uncle, Ahmed Mohamed Zamzoum, said the teenager went outside while Israeli forces operated inside the camp.
He also described repeated military raids in the area.
The Israeli army told AFP that it was checking reports about the teenager’s death.
Israeli Man Wounded in Separate Attack
The army also reported a separate stabbing incident in Al-Auja, in the central West Bank.
Israeli forces arrested a man suspected of attacking an Israeli man earlier on Sunday.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency service said the 24-year-old victim suffered a penetrating wound.
Medical teams took him to a hospital in Jerusalem. Doctors described his condition as moderate.
Israeli police said the man had parked near a shopping center when someone attacked him from behind and stabbed him in the shoulder.
Hani Najum, head of the Al-Auja village council, said Israeli forces entered the village after the attack.
He said soldiers deployed throughout the streets and imposed a curfew.
Palestinian Man Shot Near Ramallah
The Israeli army reported another shooting near Taybeh, northeast of Ramallah.
According to the army, a man tried to take a weapon from an Israeli soldier. Soldiers then opened fire and “neutralised” the man.
Palestinian sources identified him as Aws Akram Maatan from Burqa village east of Ramallah.
The sources said Maatan suffered a gunshot wound to his foot. Medical workers took him to a Jerusalem hospital.
Sayel Kanaan, head of the Burqa village council, said Israeli forces shot Maatan without justification.
West Bank Violence Continues
Violence has increased across the West Bank since the Gaza war began.
Israel has controlled the West Bank since 1967. The territory has seen repeated military raids, armed attacks and clashes involving Palestinians, Israeli soldiers and settlers.
According to an AFP tally based on Palestinian Health Ministry data, Israeli soldiers or settlers have killed at least 1,100 Palestinians since the start of the Gaza war.
Israeli figures show that at least 48 Israelis have died in Palestinian attacks or during Israeli military operations during the same period.
The latest incidents have renewed concerns about the continuing violence and rising civilian casualties across the occupied territory.
