Samsung is expanding its One UI 9 update to more Galaxy smartphones after beginning the rollout for the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. The software brings new Galaxy AI tools, privacy features and easier device management.
The update first appeared on Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8. Samsung then began extending One UI 9 to the Galaxy S26 series on September 16. The company plans to bring the software to additional Galaxy devices in stages.
Galaxy S25 and Z7 Series Next
Samsung’s Thailand newsroom says the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are scheduled to receive One UI 9 from September 28 in Thailand. The Galaxy S23 FE is expected to join the rollout by October. Availability can vary by market, carrier and device.
Samsung has not provided one global release date for every supported older Galaxy phone. However, the company says it will continue expanding the rollout.
New AI Features in One UI 9
One UI 9 adds several AI-powered tools designed to make everyday tasks easier.
My FanCam can follow a selected person in a recorded video and keep them near the center of the frame. This can help users capture performances, sports moments and other moving subjects without manually adjusting the video.
Samsung has also introduced new Generative and Editable Cards in Now Brief. These tools let users customize the information shown in their daily summaries.
Another addition, Warranty and Care, brings warranty information, device diagnostics, repair estimates and service options into the Settings menu.
More Privacy and Security Protection
Samsung is also focusing on security with the One UI 9 update. Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify possible privacy risks, while Scam Detection is expanding to additional countries and languages.
Other updated tools include Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and Voice Recorder. Samsung says feature availability can differ depending on the device, region and language.

Galaxy owners can check manually for the One UI 9 update by opening:

Samsung will continue rolling out the software in stages, so some eligible devices may receive it later than others.
