Jordan US Troops: Jordan Defends US Military Presence

Jordan US Troops during military cooperation

Jordan US troops have become the focus of renewed regional attention after Jordan rejected Iran’s reported attacks on the kingdom and several Gulf countries.

Jordanian officials stressed that the presence of American forces in the country remains legal and transparent. They said the deployment operates under a long-standing defence partnership that respects Jordan’s sovereignty and national laws.

Speaking during a panel discussion at the Aspen Security Forum, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said the US military presence follows an established defence cooperation agreement.

Jordan US Troops Support Regional Security

Safadi explained that the agreement focuses on strengthening regional security and cooperation against terrorism.

He said American forces are not stationed in Jordan to launch attacks against neighbouring countries. Instead, they support Jordan through intelligence sharing, counterterrorism cooperation and military training.

The foreign minister added that the partnership has existed for years and operates within Jordan’s legal framework.

Jordan Condemns Iranian Attacks

Jordan also condemned reported Iranian attacks against its territory and neighbouring Gulf states.

The government warned that continued military escalation could threaten regional peace and increase instability across the Middle East.

Furthermore, Jordan urged all parties to avoid actions that could widen the conflict. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the country’s borders and national security.

Regional Tensions Remain High

Military tensions remain elevated following recent confrontations involving Iran, the United States and several Gulf countries.

Regional governments continue monitoring developments and strengthening security around critical infrastructure and military facilities.

Analysts warn that further escalation could affect regional stability, energy markets and major international trade routes.

Jordan Calls for Diplomacy

Jordan has again called for dialogue instead of military confrontation.

Safadi said diplomacy remains the most practical way to reduce tensions and prevent a wider regional conflict. He added that Jordan will continue working with regional and international partners to support peaceful solutions.

The Jordanian government said protecting civilians, preserving regional stability and preventing further violence remain its key priorities as tensions continue to evolve.
