Pakistani security forces have killed 13 terrorists during the ongoing Operation Al-Azm in Balochistan, according to security sources. The operation has dealt another blow to militant networks operating in the province.
The latest intelligence-based action took place in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung. Troops targeted militant hideouts and launched extensive search operations to clear the area of armed groups.
Operation Continues in Mastung
Security officials said the latest phase of Operation Al-Azm killed 13 militants linked to Fitna al-Hindustan.
During the operation, troops destroyed several militant hideouts. They also recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and materials used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Furthermore, officials said several militants suffered injuries while trying to escape the operation.
Earlier Intelligence-Based Operations
The latest development follows intelligence-based operations in Mastung and Surab earlier this week.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces killed 10 militants during those operations. They also arrested two female suicide bombers.
The military said the raids form part of a wider campaign against terrorist networks and their facilitators.
Meanwhile, security agencies continue to conduct targeted operations based on intelligence reports. Their aim is to disrupt militant networks and prevent future attacks.
Government Reaffirms Counterterrorism Commitment
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has repeatedly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism.
He said Pakistan will continue taking decisive action against militant organisations that threaten national security.
The prime minister also highlighted the sacrifices made by Pakistani civilians and security personnel during the country’s long fight against terrorism.
He urged citizens to remain united and support security forces and law enforcement agencies.
Terror Threat Remains High
Pakistan continues to face militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
As a result, security agencies have increased intelligence-based operations in vulnerable areas. Officials say these missions aim to disrupt militant networks, destroy terrorist infrastructure and prevent attacks.
