Toxic box office collections dropped sharply on the second day as Yash’s latest film faced negative reviews and weaker audience response.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups earned around ₹37.65 crore net in India on Day 2, according to Sacnilk. The film had opened with approximately ₹101.10 crore net on its first day.
As a result, the movie recorded a drop of about 62.8% in its second-day earnings.
Despite the decline, Toxic has collected around ₹138.75 crore net in India during its first two days. Its reported worldwide gross has also reached approximately ₹192 crore.
Toxic Box Office Occupancy Falls
The film recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 27.63% in India on Day 2.
Morning shows recorded 17.08% occupancy, while afternoon screenings reached 26.77%. Evening shows stood at 25.62%.
However, night screenings performed better. They recorded the day’s highest occupancy at 41.08%.
Therefore, the stronger night response provided some relief after the film’s weak performance earlier in the day.
Negative Reviews Affect Yash Film
The sharp second-day decline comes after the film received mixed-to-negative reactions from critics and viewers.
Although Toxic delivered a strong opening, its word of mouth has not matched its first-day momentum.
Several viewers have criticised the film’s action sequences. In particular, some audiences described the violence as excessive.
Meanwhile, others questioned the execution of the gangster storyline. Critics have also argued that the female characters received limited opportunities within the story.
Toxic Faces Challenge After Strong Opening
The film’s opening performance had placed it among the major releases competing at the box office.
However, the substantial second-day fall suggests that audience feedback could play an important role in its theatrical run.
The film now needs stronger weekend collections to maintain its momentum and recover from the early decline.
Yash Leads Toxic Cast
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in the lead role alongside Kiara Advani.
Geetu Mohandas directed the movie, which combines gangster drama with action and crime elements.
The filmmakers shot the movie in Kannada and English. Furthermore, dubbed versions are available in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
With the weekend ahead, Toxic will look to attract larger audiences and improve its box office performance after the significant second-day drop.
