Iran Orders Rapid Rebuilding of Key Infrastructure After US Strikes

Iran reconstruction after US strikes

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has ordered authorities to accelerate the reconstruction of critical infrastructure damaged during recent United States military strikes, with particular emphasis on transportation networks and regional connectivity.

The directive was issued during Pezeshkian’s visit to Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, where officials briefed him on the reported damage, according to the Mehr News Agency.

Government Prioritises Strategic Infrastructure

Pezeshkian instructed officials to speed up the restoration of essential infrastructure, including railway networks, highways and international transit corridors.

The president said rebuilding these facilities is important for Iran’s economic recovery and for strengthening its role as a regional transportation hub.

Officials are expected to prioritise projects that support domestic transportation while maintaining connections with neighbouring countries.

Rail Connectivity Seen as Key to Trade

Pezeshkian also highlighted the importance of expanding Iran’s railway connections with neighbouring states.

He said stronger cross-border rail links could increase trade, improve economic resilience and strengthen international transit routes passing through Iran.

The president also argued that improved transportation infrastructure could help Iran make greater use of its geographic position between major regional markets.

Reconstruction Efforts Move Forward

Iranian authorities are expected to accelerate rebuilding projects in areas affected by the reported strikes.

The government is seeking to restore damaged transport infrastructure while keeping key domestic and international corridors operational.

The reconstruction effort comes amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington. Iranian officials have emphasised the importance of protecting critical infrastructure and maintaining the country’s transportation and economic networks.
