Raoni, who is 94, returned home to Mato Grosso after undergoing surgery in São Paulo in June.
The Chief Raoni cancer diagnosis affects his digestive system, according to the Raoni Institute.

Doctors discovered the cancer after Raoni went to hospital with a severe intestinal obstruction.
He underwent surgery in São Paulo and later returned to the Peixoto de Azevedo region in Mato Grosso.

The Raoni Institute said his advanced age and overall health made aggressive cancer treatment too risky.
