Georgia tourism GCC visitors increased steadily in 2025 as the country strengthened its position as one of the fastest-growing travel destinations for Gulf travelers. New figures from the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) show that 145,513 visitors arrived from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries during the year, representing a 3.4% increase compared with 2024.
The latest growth reflects Georgia’s expanding popularity among travelers looking for short-haul international destinations that combine natural beauty, cultural experiences, and affordable luxury.
Georgia Tourism GCC Visitors Continue to Grow
According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA), Georgia welcomed approximately 7.8 million international visitors in 2025.
Officials attribute the increase in GCC arrivals to improved accessibility and targeted tourism campaigns aimed at Gulf markets.
The country has positioned itself as an attractive destination for families, couples, and adventure travelers throughout the year.
Easy Access Attracts Gulf Travelers
Georgia sits only about four hours by air from major Gulf cities, making it a convenient destination for weekend breaks and longer holidays.
GCC citizens also enjoy visa-free entry or simplified electronic visa procedures, allowing visitors to travel without lengthy paperwork.
Travel experts say these policies continue to strengthen Georgia’s appeal across the Middle East.
Affordable Luxury and Year-Round Experiences
Georgia offers high-quality travel experiences at costs that remain significantly lower than many Western European destinations.
Industry analysts estimate visitors can receive 30 to 40% greater value than comparable European holidays.
The country also offers attractions throughout every season, including:
-
- Black Sea beaches in Batumi
-
- Ski resorts in Gudauri
-
- Mountain scenery in Svaneti
-
- Wine tourism in Kakheti
This variety allows visitors to enjoy different experiences regardless of the time of year.

These packages combine luxury accommodation, cultural experiences, outdoor adventures, and family-friendly activities.
Georgia’s tourism industry also continues expanding rapidly.
Travel platform Tripadvisor recently ranked Tbilisi among the world’s top trending destinations for 2026.
Meanwhile, more than 300 new hotels are expected to open across Georgia by 2028 in destinations including Tbilisi, Batumi, and Sighnaghi.
Strong Opportunities for GCC Businesses
The growing number of Gulf travelers creates new opportunities for travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and tourism investors across the GCC.
Industry experts believe stronger air connectivity and expanding hospitality infrastructure will help Georgia attract even more visitors from the Gulf in the coming years.
As demand continues rising, GCC travelers are expected to become an increasingly important part of Georgia’s long-term tourism strategy.
