The US Export-Import Bank has committed $1.25 billion to the Reko Diq copper and gold project in Balochistan.
However, financing discussions are still underway.

The announcement came as Pakistan and the United States reviewed progress on a bilateral trade agreement.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a virtual meeting with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
Both sides agreed that negotiations have advanced significantly. They also reaffirmed their commitment to finalizing the agreement as soon as possible.
