Huawei Watch 6 Launch Date Confirmed

Huawei Watch 6 set to debut at Chase the Wild event in Munich

Huawei has confirmed that the Huawei Watch 6 will make its official debut next week during the company’s “Chase the Wild” launch event in Munich.

The Chinese technology company shared a teaser video confirming that its next-generation smartwatch will launch on Wednesday, September 2.

Huawei will also use the Munich event to announce the global launch of the Watch GT 7 and Watch D3, its smartwatch designed to monitor blood pressure.

Huawei Watch 6 Design Revealed

The teaser gives a first look at the Huawei Watch 6 and suggests that Huawei will keep the overall design familiar.

The smartwatch appears in gold, silver and black, with each version featuring a silicone sports strap. So far, Huawei has not shown a model with a titanium strap in its promotional material.

The Watch 6 retains the round display seen on its predecessor. It also features a narrow marked bezel, a metal case, a side button and a digital crown.

As a result, the new model appears to follow the same design language as the Huawei Watch 5 rather than introducing a major visual overhaul.

X-Tap Sensor Gets an Update

Huawei will once again place its X-Tap sensor on the right side of the smartwatch.

Users can touch the sensor with a finger to activate the watch’s health-monitoring functions. The system can measure heart rate, blood oxygen levels and skin temperature. It can also perform an electrocardiogram, commonly known as an ECG.

Interestingly, the two sensor areas on the X-Tap appear slightly larger than those on the previous model.

That change could indicate that Huawei has made improvements to the watch’s sensor hardware. However, the company has not yet revealed detailed specifications or confirmed what those changes will mean for users.

New Huawei Watch 6 Features Still Under Wraps

Huawei has not revealed the full list of new Watch 6 features yet.

At this stage, the teaser mainly highlights the smartwatch’s design and sensor technology. Therefore, buyers will have to wait until the Munich launch event for more information about performance, battery life, health features and software.

The company could also follow a strategy similar to the one expected for the Watch GT 7. Instead of making major hardware changes, Huawei may focus on improving the software experience and adding new smartwatch features.

Huawei Watch 6 Launch Date

Huawei will officially unveil the Watch 6 at its “Chase the Wild” event in Munich on September 2.

The launch could give consumers a closer look at Huawei’s latest smartwatch technology while also revealing the company’s plans for the Watch GT 7 and Watch D3 in international markets.

For now, the Watch 6 appears to offer an evolution of the Watch 5 design rather than a complete redesign. However, Huawei’s focus on its X-Tap health sensors and new software features could make the upcoming smartwatch a more meaningful upgrade once the company reveals the full details.
