US Vice President JD Vance has claimed that some officials within the Israeli government attempted to influence public opinion in the United States in an effort to weaken Washington’s diplomatic approach toward Iran. Speaking during a recent interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, Vance said he believes there was an organised effort to steer American support away from negotiations and toward continuing military action.
His comments come as tensions between the United States and Iran remain high, with recent fighting raising fresh concerns about stability across the Middle East.
Vance Says Diplomacy Was the Right Choice
During the interview, Vance strongly defended the US administration’s efforts to negotiate with Iran, arguing that diplomacy offered the best chance to prevent the conflict from becoming even more dangerous.
He said he was convinced that certain individuals connected to the Israeli government preferred military operations to continue and were working to discourage support for the peace process inside the United States.
Vance also pointed to recent reports suggesting that political campaigns linked to Israeli interests had tried to shape public debate over the Iran conflict.

Pinkas said the remarks suggest that Washington and Jerusalem are currently taking different approaches on key issues surrounding Iran.
The Israeli government has not publicly responded to Vance’s statements.
