Empire Entertainment, the exclusive distributor of Sony Pictures across the Middle East, confirmed that the film earned $18.4 million during its opening weekend.

The United Arab Emirates led the regional performance with $7.4 million, while Saudi Arabia contributed $5.4 million. Strong ticket sales also came from Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

The latest release comfortably outperformed previous Spider-Man films in the region. Spider-Man: Homecoming opened with around $5 million in 2017, Spider-Man: Far From Home debuted with approximately $7 million in 2019, and Spider-Man: No Way Home generated $15 million during its opening weekend.

Dubai and Egypt Launch Spectacular Promotions

Empire Entertainment celebrated the film’s release with two large-scale promotional events.

In Dubai, a professional stunt performer dressed as Spider-Man climbed the iconic Dubai Frame before hundreds of drones illuminated the night sky with themed aerial displays.

Meanwhile, in Egypt, Empire partnered with Skyvertise to organise a spectacular 600-drone light show above the Pyramids of Giza, creating one of the region’s most ambitious movie launch events.

The celebrations attracted thousands of spectators and generated significant attention across social media platforms.

Cinema Audiences Continue to Grow

Empire Entertainment President Mario Haddad Jr. described the performance as a clear sign that audiences continue to embrace the cinema experience.

He noted that Spider-Man: Brand New Day represents the tenth Spider-Man film distributed by Empire across the Middle East, making the achievement particularly significant for the company.

According to Haddad, the record-breaking debut reflects the franchise’s lasting popularity while strengthening confidence in future theatrical releases across the region.

Global Success Continues

The Middle East performance mirrored the film’s exceptional worldwide launch.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day reportedly earned an estimated $355 million across North America and approximately $927 million worldwide during its opening weekend, making it one of the biggest global box office debuts in cinema history.

Empire Entertainment has distributed Hollywood films throughout the Middle East for more than a century while also supporting Arabic-language productions to meet growing regional demand for diverse entertainment.
