Silversea has officially embarked on its Grand South Pacific Expedition 2026, a remarkable 77-day luxury expedition aboard Silver Cloud that will take guests from Fremantle (Perth), Western Australia, to Valparaiso, Chile.
The voyage, which departed Fremantle, features 57 destinations across 11 countries and offers travelers an extraordinary journey through some of the world’s most remote and culturally significant regions. The itinerary follows Australia’s rugged Kimberley coast before crossing the South Pacific, visiting destinations including the Marquesas Islands, Pitcairn Island and Easter Island, before reaching Valparaiso on November 4, 2026.
The departure also marks the conclusion of Silversea’s 2026 Kimberley expedition season, which delivered months of wildlife encounters, Indigenous cultural experiences and Zodiac explorations along Australia’s remote northwest coastline.
“Our Grand Voyages are the fullest expression of what makes Silversea the leader in destination immersion – the rare luxury of time, paired with unmatched access to the most remote corners of the world,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.
He added that the expedition allows guests to travel continuously from the Kimberley coast to Pitcairn and Easter Island, bringing the company’s spirit of exploration into the South Pacific.
From the Kimberley to the Marquesas
The opening section of the expedition takes guests along Western Australia’s coastline, with stops at the Abrolhos Islands, Cape Peron, North Muiron Island, the Montebello Islands and the Dampier Archipelago.
The itinerary then enters the Kimberley region, visiting Adele Island, the Buccaneer Archipelago, the Hunter River region, Ashmore Reef, Swift Bay and King George River before concluding the Australian portion in Darwin.
Guests can explore Montgomery Reef and its rich marine environment or visit Swift Bay to experience ancient Gwion Gwion rock art galleries.
From Darwin, Silver Cloud continues through Indonesia and Papua New Guinea before reaching the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji. Among the highlights are Indonesia’s Raja Ampat region, Cenderawasih Bay, Vanimo, Madang, Rabaul, Santa Ana and Ambrym Island.
The journey also provides opportunities to experience local culture, including traditional Rom dancer performances on Ambrym and ancient rock art in Kokas, Indonesia.
Exploring Fiji, Tonga and French Polynesia
From Lautoka, Fiji, the expedition continues through the South Pacific, visiting 14 destinations across four countries.
The itinerary includes Taveuni and the Ringgold Isles in Fiji, Tonga’s Vava’u Group, Rarotonga and Aitutaki in the Cook Islands, and the French Polynesian destinations of Bora Bora and Rangiroa before reaching Papeete, Tahiti.
Marine experiences are another major attraction. Guests can snorkel among coral reefs near Euaiki Island in Tonga and encounter blacktip reef sharks and stingrays in Bora Bora’s famous lagoon.
The final portion of the voyage takes travelers through the Marquesas Islands, including Hiva Oa, Nuku Hiva and Fatu Hiva, followed by Mangareva, Pitcairn Island, Easter Island and Robinson Crusoe Island.
At Fatu Hiva, guests can explore the dramatic Bay of Virgins by Zodiac, while a visit to Pitcairn Island offers an opportunity to meet descendants of the HMS Bounty mutineers.
Exclusive Experiences in Australia and Easter Island
Silversea is also offering two exclusive cultural experiences during the Grand South Pacific Expedition.
On September 6, guests will visit Finniss River Lodge in Australia’s Northern Territory for the Northern Territories Adventure. The experience includes an all-wheel-drive exploration of the 50,000-acre cattle station, a helicopter flight over surrounding wetlands and escarpments, and a luncheon featuring regional seasonal cuisine.
On October 26, the expedition will feature Toki, A Hope for the Future on Easter Island. Guests will visit Toki Rapa Nui, a cultural center dedicated to preserving Rapa Nui heritage. The event will include a concert by pianist Mahani Teave, a visit to the moai at Tahai and a performance of a traditional hoko warrior dance.
Expedition Experts Guide the Journey
Throughout the 77-day voyage, Silversea’s Expedition Experts will accompany guests, bringing regional knowledge and specialized experience to each destination.
The team includes certified Zodiac drivers, historians, naturalists and scientists who can adapt excursions according to local weather, wildlife and terrain. Daily briefings and evening recaps will provide guests with deeper insight into the destinations they encounter, from the waterways of the Kimberley to the volcanic islands of French Polynesia.
Silversea Concludes 2026 Kimberley Season
The departure of Silver Cloud also brings Silversea’s 2026 Kimberley expedition season to a close.
The season included 10 voyages between May 8 and September 6, visiting 25 destinations along Australia’s remote northwest coast. Zodiac excursions focused on highlights such as King George Falls, Montgomery Reef, Horizontal Falls and the Hunter River region, while Raft Point returned to the itinerary after an extended absence.
Wildlife encounters included saltwater crocodiles and Australian snubfin dolphins around the Hunter River and Porosus Creek, as well as turtles and abundant birdlife at Montgomery Reef. Guests also encountered seabirds, tiger sharks and bottlenose dolphins around Ashmore Reef.
Cultural experiences at Freshwater Cove, Swift Bay and Jar Island featured Welcome to Country ceremonies and Indigenous rock art experiences supported by Silversea’s expedition team.
