Reform UK Conference Police Appeal for Protester

Police appeal to woman after protester incident at Reform UK conference in Birmingham.

Police have appealed to a woman involved in a protest incident at the Reform UK conference in Birmingham to come forward.

West Midlands Police said officers are aware of footage showing an incident involving a female protester. However, the force said it has not received a formal complaint. Police now want the woman to contact them so officers can make further enquiries.

The incident happened during Reform UK’s annual conference at the National Exhibition Centre. The event ran from September 3 to 5, with the main conference taking place on September 4 and 5.

Protest Disrupts Nigel Farage’s Speech

Nigel Farage’s keynote speech was interrupted several times by protesters.

Two women reportedly stood up in the conference hall and displayed a banner criticising the party. Audience members shouted for them to leave as security moved to remove them.

Footage later circulated online showing one female protester being grabbed and pulled by people in the audience. The incident prompted calls for the woman involved to speak to police.

Climate Resistance said it was responsible for the protest. The activist group also condemned the response from some audience members.

Reform UK Condemns Violence

Reform UK’s home affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf was asked about the incident.

He said he condemned people punching others and rejected violence against protesters.

His comments came as footage of the confrontation spread across social media.

Meanwhile, the protester has been encouraged to contact West Midlands Police so officers can establish exactly what happened.

Greenpeace Banner Appears at Conference

The disruption was not limited to Farage’s speech.

A Greenpeace protest banner appeared during deputy leader Richard Tice’s address. It criticised Farage and referred to controversy surrounding a political donation.

The banner remained visible for several minutes before it was removed.

Other protesters also interrupted proceedings during the first main day of the conference.

Climate Activists Claim Responsibility

Climate Resistance said its members organised the disruptions.

The group said protesters wanted to challenge Farage over his political positions and environmental policies.

It also criticised the treatment of the woman shown in the footage. The group said protesters should be able to demonstrate without fearing violence.

However, police have not said that anyone has been arrested over the incident.

Security Delay Before Farage’s Speech

Farage’s keynote address also faced a delay before he took the stage.

The Reform UK leader told delegates that the delay followed a security alert.

Some reports claimed counter-terrorism officers had prevented Farage from appearing on stage. However, West Midlands Police rejected that claim.

The force said Reform UK itself made the decision to delay the start of Farage’s speech. Police also confirmed that Counter Terrorism Policing had no involvement in delivering the 2026 conference.

Police Seek More Information

The Reform UK conference police appeal comes as officers review footage circulating online.

West Midlands Police said the woman involved should contact the force directly. This would allow officers to establish the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and determine whether further action is necessary.

For now, no formal complaint has been received.

The incident has nevertheless added to the controversy surrounding Reform UK’s annual gathering in Birmingham.

Reform Conference Faces Wider Controversies

The protest incident came during a turbulent conference for Reform UK.

The party has faced separate scrutiny over allegations concerning political donations and foreign funding. Senior party figures have also faced questions following an undercover investigation.

Despite the controversy, Farage continued to promote the party’s political agenda during the conference.

The police investigation into the protest incident is now likely to keep attention focused on events inside the NEC.

For the woman involved, the immediate question is whether she will come forward and provide police with her account of what happened.
