Pakistani security forces have killed 13 terrorists during the ongoing Operation Al-Azm in Balochistan, dealing another major blow to militant networks operating in the province, according to security sources.
The intelligence-based operation is continuing in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung, where troops have targeted militant hideouts and launched extensive search operations to clear the area of armed groups.
Operation Continues in Mastung
Security officials said the latest phase of Operation Al-Azm resulted in the elimination of 13 militants believed to be linked to Fitna al-Hindustan.
During the operation, security forces destroyed several terrorist hideouts and recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition and materials used to manufacture improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Officials also confirmed that several militants were injured while attempting to escape during the operation.
Earlier Intelligence-Based Operations
The latest success follows intelligence-based operations carried out earlier this week in Mastung and Surab, where security forces killed 10 militants and arrested two female suicide bombers, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military said the operations were part of an ongoing nationwide campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and eliminating their facilitators.
Security agencies continue to conduct targeted raids based on intelligence reports to prevent future attacks.
Government Reaffirms Counterterrorism Commitment
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism, saying Pakistan would continue taking decisive action against militant organisations threatening national security.
He also stressed that thousands of Pakistanis, including civilians and members of the armed forces, have sacrificed their lives in the country’s long fight against terrorism.
The prime minister urged the nation to remain united in supporting security forces and law enforcement agencies.
Terror Threat Remains High
Pakistan has witnessed an increase in terrorist attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, over the past several years.
Security officials say intelligence-based operations will continue across vulnerable regions to disrupt militant networks, destroy terrorist infrastructure and prevent further attacks.
Authorities maintain that counterterrorism operations remain a top national priority as security forces continue pursuing militants wherever they are found.
