Fans have been waiting for years to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy’s Venom share the big screen. While the long-rumored crossover has yet to happen, producer Amy Pascal says the possibility is still alive.
Speaking while promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Pascal joined Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to discuss the future of Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.
Amy Pascal Keeps the Door Open
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Pascal was asked how close the studios came to making the crossover a reality.
Rather than dismissing the idea, she responded positively.
“It would be great, let’s put it that way.”
When asked if there was still hope for Tom Holland and Tom Hardy to appear together on screen, Kevin Feige stepped in with a simple but encouraging response.
“Always have hope.”
The comments immediately reignited excitement among Marvel fans who have long wanted to see Spider-Man face off against — or team up with — Venom.
Animated Venom Movie Still Moving Forward
Although the live-action crossover remains unconfirmed, Pascal revealed that Sony is continuing development on an animated Venom movie.
The project will reportedly be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the filmmaking duo behind Final Destination Bloodlines.
The animated feature is expected to further expand Sony’s Spider-Man universe while giving fans another take on the iconic antihero.
Tom Hardy Previously Confirmed Talks
Earlier this year, Tom Hardy admitted that discussions about crossing Venom over with Spider-Man had progressed much further than many fans realized.
According to Hardy, the project almost became a reality before plans changed.
“We got as close as I could possibly imagine getting, apart from doing a film together.”
The actor said one of the biggest reasons he wanted the crossover was for younger audiences.
Hardy explained that children constantly ask why their favorite Marvel characters never appear together despite sharing the same comic book universe.
Fans Continue Waiting for the Ultimate Marvel Team-Up
Spider-Man remains one of Marvel’s biggest superheroes, while Venom has built a successful standalone franchise starring Tom Hardy.
With Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige both refusing to rule out a crossover, fans continue to believe the two iconic characters could eventually share the screen.
Whether it arrives through Sony’s Spider-Man universe, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or another creative direction, the possibility remains one of the most anticipated superhero events in modern cinema.
