Air France has temporarily suspended flights to Riyadh, Dubai and Beirut because tensions across the Middle East continue to disrupt international air travel.
The airline is closely monitoring the security situation. It is also adjusting operations as airspace restrictions continue to change.
Flights Suspended Across Key Routes
Air France cancelled all flights to and from Riyadh until 24 July. Meanwhile, it suspended services to Dubai until 27 July.
The airline has also paused flights to Beirut. Officials currently expect services to resume after 2 August, provided security conditions improve.
Air France says passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority.
Airline Monitors Regional Security
The airline continues to review developments across the Middle East in real time.
Before restoring any route, Air France will evaluate security conditions and airspace stability. Therefore, officials warn that schedules may change again if tensions increase.
Other Airlines Also Change Flight Plans
Air France is not the only carrier making changes.
Several international airlines have suspended or delayed flights across the Gulf and nearby countries because of ongoing regional tensions.
For example, KLM has paused services to several Gulf destinations. The airline also avoids the airspace of Iran, Iraq and Israel.
Similarly, British Airways has extended flight suspensions to Dubai, Bahrain, Tel Aviv and Amman until late October. However, it still plans to resume Doha and Riyadh services later this summer.
In addition, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa Group, Air Canada, Cathay Pacific and Aegean Airlines have also cancelled or postponed flights to several Middle Eastern destinations.
European Aviation Warning Remains Active
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) continues to advise airlines against flying through the airspace of Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf of Oman.
The advisory currently remains in effect until 29 July. Nevertheless, airlines continue reviewing the situation every day.
Travellers Should Check Flight Updates
Passengers travelling to or through the Middle East should confirm their flight status before leaving for the airport.
Because conditions can change quickly, airlines may announce additional cancellations or schedule changes at short notice.
